Helping People Find Hope, Healing, and Opportunity After Incarceration

For many individuals with a criminal history, reentering society can feel overwhelming. After incarceration, people often face closed doors, limited job opportunities, social stigma, and the pressure of trying to rebuild their lives while carrying the weight of their past.

Choose to Change Foundation exists to help change that.

We believe a person’s past should not be the end of their story. With the right support, resources, encouragement, and opportunity, individuals can rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and become productive members of their communities.

One of the ways Choose to Change has helped make this possible is through the Second Chance Job Fair in the Rio Grande Valley. This event brought together job seekers, employers, community partners, and organizations that believe in giving people a real opportunity to move forward.

The results were powerful.

The event welcomed 100 job seekers, 29 employers, 150 job offers, and 298 job interviews. More than just numbers, these results represent people taking steps toward stability, responsibility, and a better future for themselves and their families.

For many who attended, the job fair was more than an employment event. It was a reminder that hope is still possible. It showed them that there are businesses, churches, volunteers, and community leaders willing to stand with them as they work to rebuild their lives.

Employment is a major part of restoration. When someone is able to earn a steady income, they can provide for their family, meet their responsibilities, and regain confidence. But Choose to Change understands that lasting change takes more than a job. It also takes guidance, encouragement, accountability, and a community that believes restoration is possible.

That is why Choose to Change continues to provide support through mentoring, resources, job readiness, encouragement, and community partnerships. Every program and event is designed to help individuals move beyond their past and step into a healthier, more stable future.

When people are given a second chance, families are strengthened. Communities become safer. Children gain hope. Lives begin to change.

Choose to Change Foundation is committed to standing in the gap for individuals and families affected by incarceration, addiction, and brokenness. Through faith, practical support, and community partnerships, we are helping people find hope, healing, and opportunity.

This work cannot happen alone.

Every volunteer, employer, church, donor, and community partner plays a part in helping people take back their lives and build a new future. When you partner with Choose to Change, you are helping open doors for people who are ready for change.

Together, we can help restore lives, rebuild families, and bring lasting change to communities across South Texas.
